Insurance

As a club affiliated to the Scottish Cyclists Union, we hold a certain amount of insurance protection for our club activities and events.  However, individual riders are not covered under this.  On the basis that sadly accidents do happen,  the Club strongly recommends that all individual club members take out an appropriate personal  insurance to cover them for personal liability in the event of being involved in an accident or incident while riding or wheeling their bikes.  The club recommends that members have personal liability insurance to the value of £10m.

There are several ways members can achieve this:

  • It is possible that you are already covered under the terms of your household insurance policy.  To make sure, check your policy documents or contact your insurance broker.
  • British Cycling offer a reasonable scheme details of which can be found by clicking HERE
  • The Cyclists Touring Club offer a similar scheme. To find out more, click HERE

While we sincerely hope that nothing unpleasant happens while you are cycling, it is always best to err on the side of caution.
