by Neil Walker
Walkers Cycling Club continued to dominate the local hilly time trials, this time with a double win in the Cronberry Classic yesterday. Promoted by Loudoun Road Club, this is one of the toughest TT’s on the local Calendar with over 1000ft of climbing in a 17 mile route starting and finishing in Sorn.

Catherine Logan confirmed her remarkable TT progress with a stunning win in the Ladies section, putting 26 seconds into her nearest rival. Charles Vincent put in a storming ride to take 5th place, and Neil Walker chalked up his 2nd win of the year.

In total, 9 club members took part; Euan Cleland and Scott Russell were making their first competitive outings of the year, while Scott Kerr, Pete Forsythe and David Kaminski were doing their first individual efforts of 2012. Catherin Logan had been joined in the Lades section by Fiona Walker. Unfortunately the admiring throngs of supporters were denied an opportunity to see the 3rd fastest man in Ayrshire asTommy Gribbon was sidelined with illness.
