Round 1 – Marine Drive

The late afternoon showers didn’t manage to dampen the enthusiasm of Walkers Cycling Club, as 25 members turned out for the first round of their Handicap TT Series at Marine Drive in Irvine. Roadworks meant that an alternative (and slightly longer) course was used, measuring 4 miles instead of the usual 3.5.

Ian Anderson won the battle of the fast men on their superbikes, edging out Fraser Bell by 19 seconds to take the honours on the night, but after the handicaps were applied, Rebecca Murdoch reigned supreme, taking maximum points from Alan Gaskin and Ian McAlindon.
